📢 Important Shipping Update for U.S. Customers

As of August 29, 2025, the U.S. Government has announced the suspension of duty-free de minimis treatment for all countries.

  • Shipments to the United States may experience delays at customs.

  • Additional duties or customs fees may apply to your order.

  • These changes are the result of new federal regulations and are outside of our control.

  • We regret that we cannot be responsible for any additional charges assessed by U.S. Customs.

We appreciate your understanding and recommend checking with U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the most up-to-date information.

Update 25/08/2025:
As of 26 August 2025 and until further notice we no longer accept orders for the Unites States of America due to suspension of delivery services by all out shipment providers.
Orders that have already been placed will all be dispatched today, Monday 25th of August. We do not take responsibility in their delays or additional fees at customs as it is unfortunately entirely out of our control.

Here is an update from our main shipment provider, Portuguese postal service CTT:

Currently, the De Minimis regime for the United States of America (USA) allows shipments worth equal to or less than $800 to enter the country free of customs duties and without formal entry into customs.

The U.S. President published on July 30, 2025 an Executive Order that determines the suspension of the De Minimis exemption for all countries, with entry into force the 29 August 2025. . . This measure eliminates tariff exemption, directly affecting international postal flows.

Consequently, all shipments to the U.S. will pay customs duties from that date.

The technical instructions provided by U.S. authorities on August 15 determined that shipping customers will have to pay customs duties before shipments can be transported to the U.S.. The details of the new requirements are not yet fully clarified by the U.S. customs authorities and will require operational adaptations by postal companies worldwide.

Despite the short time, every effort is being made by CTT to implement the necessary changes to the guarantor of the provision of the service of sending goods to the USA in all shipping modalities.

In this sense, until the implementation of the necessary measures, the transport of shipments containing goods to the USA in all mail products, universal service orders and International express order will be suspended from August 26, including the transport of shipments containing goods to the USA in all mail products, universal service orders and International express order.

U.S. submissions containing exclusively documents will not be impacted by this measure.

This suspension covers shipments containing goods destined to the U.S., Puerto Rico and other territories under its administration (Guam, American Samoa and U.S. Virgin Islands).
